Position a module

To find the name of the position you want to put your module, you will need the ‘Module Layout’ document provided to you.


  1. Go to https://www.yourdomainname.com/administrator (example: https://www.designwritestudios.com/administrator)

    1. Type your username and password in the spaces provided

    2. Either press enter or click the ‘Login’ button


You are currently viewing the ‘Control Panel’

  1. Use the mouse to highlight ‘Extensions’ in the horizontal listing on the top-left of your screen

    1. Click on ‘Module Manager’ from the drop-down list


Now you are at the ‘Module Manager’

  1. Scroll down and locate the module you are editing (ex. the title of the new menu you created)

    1. Click on the module title


This is the ‘Module – Edit’ screen

  1. Decide where you are going to position the module by referencing the ‘Module Layout’ document mentioned at the beginning.

  2. Locate the ‘Position’ box on the left-hand side of the screen

    1. Click on the box and select the appropriate module position from the drop-down list

  3. Go to the ‘Menu Assignment’ area on the bottom-left of the screen

    1. Decide which pages will display the module

    2. Click the appropriate circle after ‘Menus’ (ex. only some pages will display the module, click on ‘Select Menu Item(s) from the List’


If you click ‘Select Menu Item(s) from the List’

  1. Find the ‘Menu Selection’ box within the ‘Menu Assignment’ area

    1. Click the appropriate page(s) from the list. (hold down the ‘ctrl’ key to select more than one page)


  1. Go to the computer disk icon at the top-right of the screen with the text ‘Save’ below it

    1. Click on the ‘Save’ icon
