Connect an article to a menu

  1. Go to https://www.yourdomainname.com/administrator (example: https://www.designwritestudios.com/administrator)

    1. Type your username and password in the spaces provided

    2. Either press enter or click the ‘Login’ button

  1. Use the mouse to highlight ‘Menus’ in the horizontal listing on the top-left of your screen

    1. Find the menu where you want your link to appear (ex. ‘Main Menu’ is your top navigation and ‘Left’ is the left navigation on your site)

    2. Click on appropriate menu (ex. ‘Main Menu’) from the drop-down list


Now you are at the ‘Menu Item Manager’

  1. Find the green, circular icon with a + symbol in the center and the text ‘New’ below it

    1. Click on the green ‘New’ icon


This is the ‘Menu Item’ screen

  1. Find the blue word ‘Articles’ in the vertical listing

    1. Click on ‘Articles’ from the list

  2. Now locate the blue word ‘Article Layout’ under the black word Article in the sub-listing

    1. Click on ‘Article Layout’


You now see the ‘Menu Item – Article Layout’ screen

  1. Find the ‘Title’ box on the left-hand side

    1. Click in the box and type your menu title

  2. Locate the ‘Parent Item’ box below the ‘Title’ box

    1. Decide if your menu link will appear as a top-level link on your menu or a sub-link under a different menu link (ex. ‘Menus’ from step 2 is a top-level link and the parent item of ‘Main Menu’ from step 2.a that appears in a drop-down list)

    2. Click the appropriate ‘parent item’

  3. Find ‘Select Article’ under ‘Parameters (Basic)’ on the right-hand side of the screen

    1. Click on the ‘Select’ button to the right of ‘Select Article’


Now you see a listing of your ‘Articles’ you have created in a pop-out

  1. Locate the ‘Section’ box on the top of the pop-out screen

    1. Click the box and select the ‘Section’ your article is under that you want to link to

  2. Find the ‘Category’ box to the right of the ‘Section’ box

    1. Click the box to select the ‘Category’ your article is under that you want to link to

  3. Scroll down until you find the ‘Article’ that you want to link to

    1. Click on the article title

  4. Go to the computer disk icon at the top right with the text ‘Save’ under it

    1. Click on the ‘Save’ icon
