The City of Lakeville's key goal in developing a new website was to automate as many maintenance functions as possible to save time and effort on the part of staff. Designwrite Studios presented the option of using the open source solution Joomla, a robust content management system built in PHP and mySQL and supported by an extensive development community.
We analyzed the existing site to gather the information needed to write a comprehensive outline and navigational structure that would provide the map we needed to design and build the site. Next, we made a list of all the desired functions for the site and double checked with Lakeville's hosting company to ensure that they would support the site we desired.
With the designs chosen, we first built the site on a test server and worked back and forth with Lakeville communications staff to enhance and tweak the layout and enter content. Over 400 pages were migrated from the existing site. The site was then packaged and moved to it's final hosting place!
Designwrite Studios provides ongoing support and training to the City of Lakeville, including upgrades, enhanced modules and components and template refinement.
