The Oviedo Website is fully open source using the very robust Drupal content management system, which allowed us to accomplish our goal of increasing the usability of the site for residents while also streamlining staff production.
Initially, Designwrite worked with Oviedo to hone the navigational design of the site, creating a new outline and flow chart to determine the organizational structure of the new site. We then presented a handful of template designs, working closely with Oviedo staff and council to choose a template and color scheme.
This site took approximately 75 hours to produce. That included migrating the content from Oviedo's old site to their new site which we handled via mySQL along with additional manual migration of modules, menus and blocks.
We were pleased to meet the superb Oviedo staff, training them on site management, from adding new content and graphics to building new menus. Using Drupal's taxonomy and the handy Simple List module, we were able to streamline staff production by enabling automated menus.
