Xcel Energy and Designwrite Studios worked together to develop two different training modules:
- Proper Grounding Techniques for line technicians
- Mobile Metering
Designed and developed both the classroom and intranet resources for both training modules.
The Proper Grounding Techniques included writing and editing existing text delineating the steps for proper grounding when repairing electrical lines. Illustrations and photos were developed for each of the techniques. The piece was produced as a print manual and study guide and was distributed to emplyees through Human Resources.
The Mobile Metering Training is an extensive training that introduced employees to the newly deployed mobile meter reading system. Training modules were developed in Flash and deployed onto employee laptops to be used as a reference manual. Classroom training was provided nationally.
