Cima Labs

Designwrite Studios was retained by Cima Labs, Inc. to help discover root cause for over-inking issues and subsequent downtime in blister pack printing on the Gatcho Press, provide root cause analysis to management, and provide subsequent training to staff that would resolve the production issues related to blister pack printing.

Designwrite worked closely with Cima Labs management to execute the following:

  • Initial interviews were conducted with over 200 employees who worked on production lines that included a Gatcho Press. Interviews were also conducted with distributors of the Gatcho Press. A written summary and analysis of these interviews was provided.
  • The training manual distributed with the Gatcho Press training manual was analyzed and compared to user information provided in the interviews.
  • Workflow processes were analyzed with regard to use of the Gatcho Press.

With the above data, Designwrite developed a customized training workshop on CAPA procedures specifically addressing how to write effective deviation reports with regard to Gatcho Press. Training was initially delivered to management human resources training staff, then be deployed to smaller work groups.

Designwrite also developed a new training manual for the Gatcho Press which included sequential trouble-shooting procedures designed to minimize downtime.
